Grainau
Grainau belongs as well as Garmisch – Partenkirchen, Farchant, Mittenwald, Krün and Wallgau to the seven communities of the former county Werdenfels and is located on the impressive Wettersteingebirge. With the Badersee and the Eibsee there are two crystal – clear mountain lakes in this area. The Waxenstein arise in the south directly in front of the village and in the north is the valley bounded by the Ammergauer Alps with the Kramerspitze.
Grainau with its 3 800 inhabitants has retained its original charm. It is surrounded by lush meadows in a rural idyll. The warm Bavarian hospitality and comfort and diverse sport and leisure activities make this fine little place to something very special. There is so much to discover…..
